About Udupi
Udupi, on the Karnataka coast north of Mangaluru, grew around the Sri Krishna temple and its eight monasteries, and gave its name to Udupi cooking. Nearby are Malpe beach, boats to the basalt columns of St Mary’s Islands, the Mookambika temple at Kollur and the Manipal university town.
