About Darbhanga
Darbhanga lies in the historical Mithila region of north Bihar, and its city is the district headquarters and one of the largest in the state. The Darbhanga Fort, built by the Raj Darbhanga family, stands in the city; the district also has sites linked to the Ramayana, such as Ahalya Sthan and Gautam Kund.
