About Bhagalpur
Bhagalpur is one of the oldest districts of Bihar, centred on the city of the same name on the Ganga. Nearby are the ruins of Vikramashila, one of the great Buddhist universities of the Pala period, and the Vikramshila Gangetic Dolphin Sanctuary on the river.
